The Supply Planner will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of third party manufactured Vita Coco products. This role is based out of our NYC HQ reporting directly to the Manager of Contract Manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Material Replenishment Planning
  • Proactively report product and raw material availability issues and analyze risk
  • Flag and accrue for any materials at risk of expiration
  • Provide rolling monthly & weekly forecasts to our copackers and suppliers
  • Coordinate orders and material movements between nominated suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Analyze shipment schedules to ensure contract manufacturers will be able to meet target production
  • Help coordinate outbound shipments of finished goods from copackers to warehouses
  • Ensures proper documentation is shared with contract manufacturers and logistics partners
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners
  • Identify cost-savings opportunities with suppliers and maintain bill of materials and pricing info records
  • Prepare vendor scorecard on a consistent basis
  • Place orders with manufacturers based upon agreed lead time and capacity availability
  • Identify and manage potential inventory obsolescence to minimize write-offs
  • Responsible for all raw material and component inventory control
  • Partner with quality and suppliers on the management of materials on hold
  • Manages chargebacks, disposition requests and similar documents
  • Executes end of month inventory reconciliation
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the bill of materials in SAP, planning tools and documenting processes and workflows
  • Be open to learn new IT systems for planning and logistics tracking
  • Participate on cross-functional innovation and renovation management discussions
  • Collaborate with Technical team to set up new CoPackers and SKU’s
  • Inputs timeline requirements for CoPacking during concept phase of new products
  • Collaborates with Marketing team to ensure new packaging orders have correct and approved graphics

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • 1-3 years of supply chain experience with at least one year in production planning
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering or Similar Field is preferred
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Demonstrated proactive problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a “can-do” attitude
  • Outstanding vendor management and communication skills along with the ability to implement process improvements with our partners as our business needs change
  • Working knowledge of SAP is required
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, “team player” who can thrive within both a line and matrix organization with mutli-site/multi-cultural context and effectively interreacting with all teams, areas, and levels of the business to complete the supply process
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Energetic, self-motivated, positive attitude and with the ability to drive improvements
  • And of course, the love of all things coconuts!
