The Vita Coco Company is searching for a Quality Assurance Intern. This person will be a member of the QA team and will partner with the extended Technical team, Innovation Marketing team as well as the US and Global Supply chain teams to assist in the quality analysis of Vita Coco products, whether produced locally or coming from our global supply chain. This is a hybrid position working from our NYC HQ office two days per week.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position will be assisting in the sensory, packaging, and basic analytical testing of products.
Main Responsibilities:
- Review the document management system to identify missing, incomplete or expiring information or documents
- Assist with creation, revisions, and renewals of quality related documents and certificates
- Distributes official documents to internal and external parties as needed
- Extract monthly data analysis
- Order samples from the warehouses as needed
- Extract quality complaint data for further analysis
- Miscellaneous requests/tasks
- Conduct and score sensory analysis
- Analyze packaging integrity
- Run shelf life analysis
- Manage the quality samples and overall cleanliness of QA storage
- Data entry into data management system
- Maintenance of Quality and R&D area
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a local university for study in food science, biology or chemistry
- Able to be on site at physical office location
- Able to use MS Office Software
- Able to conduct sensory tests with coconut water and milk products (Candidate must be able to work in an environment where they will handle both nuts and dairy on a daily basis!)
- Able to lift, move and place 30 lb. cases of product
Hourly Rate: $20.00
Availability: 20 hours per week, will be determined on the student’s available schedule
