The Vita Coco Company is looking for a VP Information Technology based in New York City to join our team. This position would lead our global IT function and report directly to our Chief Operating Officer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Understand the current IT landscape and makes recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions.
  • Creates a project-based prioritization schedule based on defined ROI and business outcomes
  • Formalizes justification for projects, and proactively manages through the approval process.
  • Scope projects, sources technical implementation and support resources, and manages successful implementation of technical solutions
  • Ensures the security, reliability, consistency, and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  • Produces a detailed timeline for each application release and provides effective project control by monitoring the progress of IT projects -reporting status, addressing delays, technical shortfalls, and problems. Escalates issues as needed for executive team alignment on resolution and project impact.
  • Directs and prioritizes the workload of internal IT team members and contract partner personnel, which includes IT Managed Services Providers and other vendors.
  • Oversees the identification and of training requirements with respect to existing or new processes and/or technologies
  • Works with the executive team and HR to develop an IT organization roadmap right sized to the growth of the company and application landscape
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory and security requirements associated with SOX and GDPR for all in-scope applications.
  • Oversees and improves the current data governance process and procedures. Prioritizes alignment with business end users to expand data and analytics capabilities
  • Develops and implements quality assurance practices and procedures, overseeing quality assurance and user acceptance test cycles. Ensures accurate and complete test plans and coordinating testing following defined change control procedures

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master's Degree preferred in a field appropriate for this position (Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Management, Educational Technology, or other equivalent disciplines)
  • 7-10 years of professional, technical experience
  • Experience successfully leading and managing a technical team and external vendors is required.
  • Experience with SAP is required
  • Experience with top tier CRM solution implementation or post implementation support
  • Experience implementing and expanding data and analytics capabilities and frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with and work well with all levels & departments within an organization, specifically working effectively within an entrepreneurial, fast-moving culture. Ability to build relationships with key functional users and to understand the business processes and challenges.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills, and drive to meet organizational and departmental objectives; ability to manage projects on interrelated timelines. Sense of urgency.
  • Strong technical capabilities, business acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership skills
  • Proven track record of managing complex IT budgets.
  • Experience with SOX & GDPR compliance frameworks, evidence collection, audit cycles, and engagement with auditors.
