The Vita Coco company is seeking a Production Specialist, Packaging. The Production Specialist, Packaging will serve as the project manager and owner for all packaging projects across The Vita Coco Company’s portfolio of brands. At the center of a highly cross-functional team, this person is a natural communicator, extremely attentive to detail and is a proactive problem-solver.
This role will report directly to the Senior Global Innovation Manager. This is a hybrid position based in our NYC HQ. Up to 10% travel will be required for this role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead cross functional teams, including global teams, across several packaging projects, ensuring deliverables are met on time, with oversight from Senior Innovation Manager.
- Drive innovation by presenting new packaging concepts, technologies, and delivery systems to support new innovative concepts, while incorporating Marketing, Product Development and Design ideas.
- Build, own and execute project timelines, including artwork approvals and implementation
- Manage vendors directly in the implementation and approval processes surrounding primary & secondary packaging artworks, pulling in Cross Functional Team and Designers as needed
- Support technical needs across packaging projects, facilitating communication between manufacturing partners and Technical/Quality teams, to ensure technical construction meets all requirements.
- Communicate and work closely with all development groups including R & D leads, Marketing, Sales, Product Development and Design.
- Ensure all projects are completed on-time and meet the intended design, quality, cost, functionality, and manufacturability objectives.
- Lead artwork implementation process from submission through to proof approvals for primary and secondary packaging artworks. This includes tracking, routing, and submitting approved artworks to various teams and external vendors.
- Create and organize a library of packaging dielines, and artworks working closely with the Design team. Identify new applicable packaging and design technologies within and outside our industry to evaluate best practice and support product innovation.
Qualifications:
- Has a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant project management experience within a packaging, production, and/or a creative setting
- Has a general understanding of printing processes and packaging material types
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite · Experience with Notion or other Project Management tools
- Understands design principles, layout, and best practices across packaging (primary and secondary) and a desire to continually strengthen that understanding
