The Innovation Manager, New Brands will be responsible for driving the next stage of growth for AMI by developing and launching new brands through a global supply chain and multi-channel distribution network. He/she/they is someone who can do strategy and execute at the same time. They’re a self-starter who has experience in working cross-functionally to bring innovations to market.

This role is based out of our NYC HQ reporting directly to the Global Director of Innovation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Own innovation launches end-to-end, including white space analysis, sizing/forecasting, P&L development, product development, brand/packaging development, brand positioning work, go-to-market strategy, and execution for all new launches
  • Lead project management and timelines for new innovations through the entire stage gate process – from concept all the way through to launch
  • Manage brand marketing for launch stage of new brands – responsibilities include budget management, forecast management, POS and other asset creation, regular communication with sales, field marketing, PR, media, and e-commerce teams
  • Support the development of AMI’s long-term portfolio innovation strategy:
    • Mine commercial, channel, customer, competitive, and consumer/shopper data and AMI network to inform new opportunities
    • Build and develop new concepts and sell stories for internal and external sell-in – as well as for testing and research
  • Regularly communicate and collaborate with cross-functional team members across Design, R&D, Supply, Ops, Sales, and Finance
  • Manage agencies for quantitative/qualitative research, brand development, and creative work when necessary

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Years of experience: 3-5 years innovation experience
  • Professional Experience:
    • Experience in Food & Beverages or on a lifestyle brand/agency team
    • An understanding of how to run the proper innovation process at a big CPG, but with a willingness to break some rules and have some fun
    • Strong financial background – has experience with building and managing P&Ls
