The Operations Specialist will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of third party manufactured Vita Coco products. This role is based out of our NYC HQ reporting directly to the Director of Contract Manufacturing.

Main Responsibilities:

Vendor Management, Scheduling and Logistics

  • Responsible for ensuring prompt movement of raw materials and finished goods
  • Ensures proper documentation is shared with contract manufacturers
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners
  • Proactively reports product and raw material availability issues
  • Execute weekly material requirements planning
  • Identify and lead cost-savings opportunities with suppliers
  • Prepare vendor scorecard on a consistent basis
  • Responsible for packaging price negotiation
  • Leads procurement for suppliers

Order Processing and Inventory Management

  • Place orders with manufacturers based upon agreed lead time and capacity availability
  • Identify and manage potential inventory obsolescence to minimize write-offs
  • Responsible for all raw material and component inventory control
  • Partners with quality and suppliers on the management of materials on hold
  • Manages chargebacks, disposition requests and similar documents
  • Assists in the execution of end of month inventory reconciliation

Systems, Data Management and Reporting

  • Responsible of the upkeep of master data in SAP, PowerBI and excel
  • Maintain bill of materials, pricing, value chain and timelines updated
  • Assist in the Implementation of systems for tracking material usage and requirement
  • Be a coordinator of SAP stock inventory balance and assist in the troubleshoot of issues
  • Be open to learn new IT systems for planning and logistics tracking
  • Assist in the implementation of new IT systems

New Product Development

  • Participate on cross-functional innovation and change management discussions
  • Lead execution of new products with suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Inputs timeline requirements during concept phase of new products
  • Spearheads graphic changes with suppliers

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • 3-4 years of supply chain experience with at least one year in production planning
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering or Similar Field is preferred
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Demonstrated proactive problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a “can-do” attitude
  • Working knowledge of SAP is required
  • Ability to deal with complexity and manage ambiguity
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Energetic, self-motivated, positive attitude and with the ability to drive improvements
